National Day of Golf is this Friday, September 7. Tee it up for the Troops, a non-profit organization, was established in 2005 after a soldier enlisted in the United States Army following September 11, 2001. Tee it up for the Troops honors, respects, remembers and recognizes the needs of all veterans who have served and continues to serve this country.

The Friday before September 11 has been officially named National Day of Golf. Numerous golf outings occur throughout the country where proceeds raised benefit veterans and their families. More than 3 million dollars have been raised over the past seven years, with 95 percent of the proceeds going directly to programs that continue to support veterans and their families.

So, this Friday, September 7 when you are playing golf or just hitting golf balls, take a moment to remember the men and women who sacrificed and dedicated their lives for this country.
